This is van de Putte up to his old tricks. He made his fortune by juggling his companies around to evade his obligations.

A surprisingly under-reported story, considering Omroep West previously chose to inform its readers about a loose plank obstructing a stairwell at Ivicke.
Strange, as committing half a million euros of public funds to someone who is known for cheating the public out of its funds kind of seems like a story. Thankfully, we decided to give some attention to the ‘Vijf Ton Beloning Voor De Krottenkoning.’

The municipality of Wassenaar shares internal emails and photos concerning us with a journalist for a non-article about, well, no new developments in the story. We wonder if the municipality will be so kind as to share internal correspondence between them, van de Putte and his representatives?
Though we are officially recognized as an “interested party”, we have been continually excluded by the municipality from all processes and discussions except when they want something from us. Specifically, we asked to be heard with regards to the owner’s request for the municipality to enforce Ivicke’s zoning plan. It is designated as an office, not a residency. We were ignored, but for months we continued to provide access to the building for municipal officials and, at their request, drafted a letter for the court to help in their case against the owner to force him to carry out emergency repairs. One week after doing this, the municipality sent us an eviction notice with the threat of a 100,000 euro fine.
It may also be of interest to say that around the time this article was published, Ronnie van de Putte came to visit Ivicke. We talked and showed him and his cronies around. In his own words, he said he “doesn’t give a shit” that we are here, but the municipality of Wassenaar is threatening him with fines if he doesn’t start a civil procedure against us. He’s a snake. We don’t trust a word he says. Equally though, from our dealings with city officials where we have demonstrated our goodwill and cooperation, we have learned not to trust them either.
Van de Putte’s lawyer is full of shit too, of course.
Since the journalist so emphatically claims to state the opinion of van de Putte on our presence at Ivicke, perhaps it’s worth restating that van de Putte himself said he “doesn’t give a shit” that we are here when he visited Ivicke around the time of this article.
Also, why does a police and courts correspondent not understand that a bailiff’s role at this point is simply to hand over documents? There is no obligation for us to invite them in for tea.

The repair work was essentially a repeat of a few years ago, but with more subdued colours for the plastic. We told all interested parties (and journalists…) that the work in fact resulted in new leaks around some of the dormer windows. The contractors also unsettled some of the roof cladding, creating new leaks around the skylight. We’ve now fixed all of this, once again. We also expressed concerns about the support for the gutter putting a huge strain on the stone facade. We erected scaffolding around the same section of the building in September to seal leaks, and dismissed carrying out such a plan. We had another proposal which we ran by the municipality, but they asked us not to do anything.
A better account of the situation regarding Ivicke’s emergency repairs than what Omroep West pisses out.
VVD Wassenaar’s priorities for 2020? Easing traffic congestion? Ensuring genuinely affordable homes for younger, low-income people? Saving the Warenaar theatre from disrepair? Or even taking action to ensure real estate speculants like Ronnie Van De Putte aren’t in a position to take the piss out of the municipality? No, one of their main priorities for 2020 is to evict squatters from Wassenaar i.e just us.
VVD Wassenaar’s weird obsession with us can also be seen in their social media accounts- every second or third post is about us. The owner is never meaningfully discussed, nor the market-based problems which demand squatting as a response. We experience the real effects of such obsessive rhetoric with abuse and attacks at our current home. And we’re supposedly the threat to ‘public order’.

The journalist behind this non-story entered the terrain without our knowledge or permission to take close-up photos of Ivicke. When we later reminded him that we have house-peace here by law, as indicated by the sign at the gate which he mentions in his article, he apologized. We also found his opinion of Ivicke as an “unpleasant place to live” quite strange. He also apologized for this assumption then said it is in a better state by us living here than it was before. This opinion did not, however, make it into his article.

Ook deskundigen op dit gebied spreken deze voorkeur uit. Daarnaast fungeren de bewoners als brandwacht.”

VVD-endorsed misdirection. We do not stand in the way of Ivicke’s restoration. We do stand in the way of unjustified vacancy.

Laurens van Doeveren didn’t just say he is a local resident, he impersonated a journalist to access the terrain. And then tried to legitimize our eviction on the basis of us hosting people exercising their right to peaceful protest, as determined by a judge.

Verbazingwekkend om te zien dat sommige mensen zich drukker ma-ken om een groep idealisten die samen actievoeren voor de zwaksten in onze samenleving, dan zich druk te maken dat iemand willens en wetens een woonhuis laat verkrot-ten. Nog vreemder is dat het recht op speculatieboven het recht op wonen lijkt te gaan.
Huize Ivicke, de statige villa aan de Rijksstraatweg wordt door sommige mensen, ook door politici, gezien als een plek van verloedering. Verloedering die volgens hen veroorzaakt wordt door de krakers en de actievoerders die daar verblijven. Ik zou dit beeld graag willen nuanceren met drie onderliggende problemen. Het eerste probleem is de eigenaar van het pand. Hij weigert tot nu toe het pand goed te onder-houden en speculeert op een prachtige verkoopprijs van het pand en de grond. Het tweede probleem is de enorme woningnood. Er zijn on-voldoende woningen voor starters beschikbaar. En het derde probleem is het internationale vluchte-lingenprobleem dat tot op heden net als de vorige twee problemen nog steeds niet door onze politici opgelost zijn. Voor deze drie probleem vragen de actievoerders met hun acties aandacht. Het punt is dat je nu wel de actie-voerders de schuld kan geven van de verloedering van Huize Ivicke, en voor een deel zal dat ook zo zijn, maar daar los je de problemen waar zij nu juist aandacht voor vragen niet mee op. Ik ben blij van de actievoerders gehoord te hebben dat ze een goed contact over hun acties hebben met de burgemeester. De politici raad ik ondertussen aan de drie problemen en de eigenaren van de problemen aan te pakken, en niet de bood-schappers ervan.
